I'm finally getting back into design and art.  It's taken me a long time, but I'm so overjoyed to be back at it.  It'll be a long process to update my knowledge on how to do it like "the pros", but I think I'll manage exquisitely.  I also have to update my web design knowledge, also.  Things have changed so much the last 5-6 years in the web industry that it'll be a long time, but I'm ready for the challenge and ready to get going.  :) I've already submitted a few pieces already and while they're fairly simple, I'm happy to just be DOING something again. I'm actually going to get my site online and hopefully have it completely up and going

Here's what I don't understand. This is primarily an art website where the focus should be on artwork, yet I continually observe people using the journal section as an online diary. (I refuse to say blog...)  There are no privacy settings so how can you filter who sees things and who doesn't? On my LiveJournal, I made a conscious effort to keep the general public's eyes off my thoughts.  People who post entries for all the world to see are nothing more than attention whores. I'll keep the identity of my target silent since there's no purpose in mentioning this individual, however I just finished reading through all of this person's journal

I don't like this new version of dA.  I really don't.  Everything before was tiny, cute, and easy to look at.  Now, it's big, ugly, and resembles what Windows XP looks like to a degree. They need to make things tinier, simpler, and FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD, please change the opacity of the white deviantART logo at the top.  You can see jagged edges on it and it looks totally unprofessional. Blah. When they switched to v4, I was happy.  It looked good.  I had not one issue with it, but this, this isn't deviantART to me. Maybe things'll change in the next couple weeks.  I can only hope.
