Better late than never.

I'm finally getting back into design and art.  It's taken me a long time, but I'm so overjoyed to be back at it.  It'll be a long process to update my knowledge on how to do it like "the pros", but I think I'll manage exquisitely.  I also have to update my web design knowledge, also.  Things have changed so much the last 5-6 years in the web industry that it'll be a long time, but I'm ready for the challenge and ready to get going.  :)

I've already submitted a few pieces already and while they're fairly simple, I'm happy to just be DOING something again.

I'm actually going to get my site online and hopefully have it completely up and going by the end of the summer.  I think I've finally figured out what bluecalx.org is going to be.

I want to do articles on social media, provide tutorials on various things that I'm interested in, be it social media, herbalism, graphics design, possibly makeup, and whatever else floats my boat.  It's also going to be writing reviews on puzzle games that I find online or that I play on various gaming mediums.

Anyway, this is going to be a slow prcoess of getting back into doing creative things, but I know I'll do it and do it well.  :)

Here's what I don't understand. This is primarily an art website where the focus should be on artwork, yet I continually observe people using the journal section as an online diary. (I refuse to say blog...)  There are no privacy settings so how can you filter who sees things and who doesn't?

On my LiveJournal, I made a conscious effort to keep the general public's eyes off my thoughts.  People who post entries for all the world to see are nothing more than attention whores.

I'll keep the identity of my target silent since there's no purpose in mentioning this individual, however I just finished reading through all of this person's journal on DeviantART and it astonishes me how much information this person made privy to the public.

For example, they mention shaving themselves and cutting their genitalia and legs on accident IN A PUBLIC ENTRY.  I don't think the world needs to see this.

Furthermore, this person writes about how they have other relationships on various occassions, yet this person continually rants about this OTHER person who happens to be a person with whom I'm in a relationship with.

I swear to God. If this person touches the person I'm with, I'm going to seriously go ballistic.

Gah.  I can't even talk about this anymore.  It's pissing me off this much.

New dA Opinion

1 min read
I don't like this new version of dA.  I really don't.  Everything before was tiny, cute, and easy to look at.  Now, it's big, ugly, and resembles what Windows XP looks like to a degree.

They need to make things tinier, simpler, and FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD, please change the opacity of the white deviantART logo at the top.  You can see jagged edges on it and it looks totally unprofessional.

Blah.

When they switched to v4, I was happy.  It looked good.  I had not one issue with it, but this, this isn't deviantART to me.

Maybe things'll change in the next couple weeks.  I can only hope.

So, I'm getting interested in macro photography.

I took my first one and aptly named it Vitamin Soup.  It's in my deviations, so you can check it out there. I find it really fascinating.  It's so precise, so perfect, and so clean.  It really gives you a different perspective of this world.

I've always seen the details of every situation that I encounter, so it's natural that I become interested in macro photography.

As soon as I finish upgrading my computer, I'm going to look into purchasing a high quality digital camera for my macroshots.  I also should invest on a light table so I don't have to rely on white paper for my shots.  I don't want too much texture on the floor of my objects, and I also don't want shadows, so a light table would be a good idea.

As for the rest of my art, I think I am going to dig up the sources of all those pieces and refine them like I did with the Pop one.  My skills have gotten better, and I think I should showcase my improvements.  Besides, those pieces are very old and I don't think it accurately depicts my abilities today.

At any rate, I should have a couple of macroshots this week, and I look forward to having comments on them so I can improve on my work.  :)

Stuff

Well, I'm starting to do some stuff.  It's coming slow, but, I'm sure it'll pick up eventually.

I think I'm going to start getting my skills up to par and maybe try selling some of the shit I make local to me.  I dunno.  People have told me that if I just worked on my technique and practiced like a mother fucker that I'd get good enough to sell my shit.

I do want to make cash, so, I think I'll start honing my skills the next few months.

So,  yeah. I'm a Scientologist.  It's the best decision I've made for myself in a very long time.

Don't like it?  Deal with it.

I'll probably do a piece tonight.  Stay tuned!
